Hi to all I recently purchased on ebay a 60s sunbeam power plus mixer like this, it came with 2 stainless bowls and 2 ceramic bowls, the ceramic got broken during shipping though, I've been able to put togheter again some pieces and I've noticed that the rings base of the bowls are quite different to the diameter of tongued guide of the (particular power plus models) rotation plate wich is inside the base instead of being raised, and also the bigger bowl looks like it is too big and large to turn without being blocked.
I love the ceramic bowls, and I would get a replacemnt for them, just wondering if them will fit in my power plus model, I've never seen them on a power plus model, the seller does not know as the mixer was not his and the bowls also looked like new, maybe who owned it before purchased them by mistake.........
Who can help me?
Thanks in advance

Ah, The 16 speed Sunbeam MixMasterPowerPlus.

Those stainless steel bowls are the correct bowls for the mixer and I dont believe they were offered with anything but them.

The PowerPlus bowls are more narrow and deeper than the standard bowls so they wont fit.

Also that is a late 70's mixer, pretty sure it came out in 1977 or 78 and ran until maybe 1981.

Overal it is an awesome mixer, my gram has had this since new in 1979 and it has been used alot and performs great.

Deep and Wild

It is correct that the stainless bowls are the only ones designed to work with the Power Plus. The mixer is very powerful, loud and trying to scrape the bowl or add ingredients while the mixer is running takes some care.  All parts are obsoleted and finding beaters and bowls are strictly thrifting scores.  I have beaters if you need them and over time some of them have lost the plastic bearing ring that the bowl receptacle rides on.  The base of the turntable protrudes through the bottom of the stand.  If the feet are worn or missing the bowl won't rotate because the base of the turntable rests on the counter. The mixer was marketed to be a Kitchenaid alternative and when sales were flat and most homeakers wanted a more conventional Sunbeam with wider bowls the production was halted.  They were first introduced for the holiday sales in 1979 and were produced for 5 years.  The later models had a timer, burst of power switch and other trinkety additions.

Thanks for the tips!

Thanks mixfinder, for the great tips and info, and yes I think I will need a set of beaters as the ones that came with it are going to be bad soon, and yes they're hard to find, just one set on eBay......but I'm looking most for a large bowl now as the stainless got a little bumped......
This is just what I was looking for as I needed a beater and a kneader,it is so powerful, happy to have choose the Sunbeam instead of a KitchenAid, I love the Sunbeam style, what I like also is the working light on it! What kind of bulb does it have? Night bulb?
We can come to an agreement for the whips, I live in Italy.....maybe I could send back you some typical food or products from here, or if you have eBay or a paypal address I can pay for them...let me know.
Thank you very much again!

Italy

This past month I've sent two packages to Australia, one to England and one to Germany.  I may get to go around the world in 80 days and never leave home.  Send me an address and I'll send you the beaters.
