Yes!

That's cool--a Mobile Maid a la Hotpoint.

Yes, Eugene, that knob "charges" the Jet-Dry dispenser. GE's version of it was called "Rinse-Glo," and you had to punch that button or twist that knob each cycle if you wanted Jet-Dry in the rinse.

Kind of a cool idea--I'd like to have the option to decide when to meter it sometimes, kind of like not always wanting fabric softener in the washer.

location

I'm really sorry guys, but the location of the washer is actually in Fullerton, California!!!

I apologize for anyone in the Ohio area that got their hopes up..

Sorry!

I'd like to have the option to decide when to meter it s

I've always felt the same way Nate. I always thought GE had it "right" by giving one the "optoin". there are times I dont' feel the need for jet-dry.

i'm glad it's in california

out of reach for me! when i saw the post i immediately sent the guy an e mail inquiring about it! but i really don't need another dishwasher, even one as interesting as a g.e. mobile maid in a hotpoint casing! but like the true appliance addict i am i could not resist!

this solves that issue of "do i or don't i" for me at least!

LOL

Eugene, I found the bottle of mommy's little helpers, and my life has never been the same ;-)

Bob, me too!

Well, huh, Fullerton is in the L.A. area, apparently. Maybe Scott's cuticles are a little dry from those dishpan hands, and feels the need to investigate ;-) *rib, rib*

Most interesting!

I can't ever recall seeing a top-loading Hotpoint - it really does look like the GE mobile-maid inside. The timer control dial is very different from the GE, though! Just a bit too far away from me, alas!!

i checked in my repair master for hotpoint

it says "the 1967 top opening portable models have a completely different motor and wash mechanism" and then shows the pump, motor and spray arm that we are all familiar with from the g.e. mobile maids that is also on the above posted machine.

so i guess this machine is at least a 67 or later model.
