'70s gambles coronado dishwasher

a 2nd house I recently bought came with a rollout Coronado dishwasher that I estimate dates to around 1972-75,it is in good cosmetic condition but is said to not work-are these decent enough to be worth a repair effort?are they Westinghouse?-looks like it has a horizontal shaft pump.

A rollout machine would most likely have an impeller for washing, but it would be older than the early 70s; more like early mid 60s at the latest for a WH rollout. If it is a rollout Westinghouse, it would have a small drain pump that would have a horizontal shaft connecting the motor to the pump. That little bushing that the shaft goes through dries out and the drain pump won't operate.

sounds like I have the wrong description-by rollout I mean it is on casters and has sink hookup.Machine has spray arm,grayish porcelain interior,and rectangular white plastic intake grate for the pump

What you are describing sounds like a Westinghouse. If the white plastic filter is rectangular, it sounds like a model based on the 1965 WH redesign that was very similar to the early KA dishwashers, the 12 to be specific.

In 1965, when CU tested dishwashers, this design WH got check rated.

looks like it is 1970 westy

checked the dishwasher more and it has a vertical shaft relay start Westinghouse 1/3 HP motor(1970 dated)Though the faucet adaptor is missing,everything looks good and motor turns so will give it a try when I can arrange a water hookup-one proven will rig a permanent hookup.

There are basically two faucet adapters: the narrow nipple and the wider one. You can tell from the unicouple which you need. If your little finger fits into the fill opening, you need the narrow one. If the hole is larger, you need the wider one. You can find them at HD and Blowes with the aerators and kitchen faucet fittings. Before you start it up, though, you should dump a few quarts of hot water into the sump to recondition seals and lubricate the pump (to say nothing of checking for leaks).
