Hi all, thank you in advance for the help. I appreciate the help getting this dryer together. It is my aunt's Sears Kenmore Fabric Master 700, and I replaced the belt but took apart a bit too much and I can't remember where this brass strap went. I think it had something to do with the upper console but I've tried every combination and can't figure it out, I was wondering if the picture could jog someone's memory.

Thank you for looking. I'd also could use some help finding the other end of the "scent bottle" hose. It's dangling down in the back, but I'm guessing it should fit somewhere.

Looks like a grounding strap....  I recall removing something like this from the wiring block of a couple of US ranges and dryers that I have acquired over the years when adpating the connections to a Canadian power supply cord which has a distinct ground wire.

OR it could be the ground for the drum sensor if it's one of the electronic sensor models.  This picture is from my 65 Lady Kenmore with the electronic control for drying.

Thanks for the suggestions, I wish I took photos before I removed it. It's some sort of ground, connecting the top console to the rest of the case I believe. That's how I attached it but I don't think it's the original placement unfortunately. This model doesn't have an electrical sensor on the drum.

Make That Connection..!

Yes, it is definitely the ground strap connecting the console to the cabinet. Without it, be careful — I didn’t think I needed one for my ‘64 Lady Kenmore dryer and yikes when you touched the cabinet and the console at the same time...BZZZZZZZ!!! It definitely woke me up so I ended up making a homemade brass connector which did the trick. Probably doesn’t matter where you install it, just that it connects the two.
