Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I remember my aunt had a washer like that and Zanussi did it since some years ago in Italy.
I spent a lot of time in the site you linked, i like it very much, especially the pics of the Lavamat Regina in the museum section.

Vintage euro top loader

Really interesting washer. It almost reminds me of a top loading dishwasher. What kind of agitator did it sport? Top loaders aren't the norm in Europe. Was this just a passing fad?

Had to laugh at the pants on the model.....used to have some just like them. Oy!

Venus, The washer is an H-axis toploader, like the Staber and the Launderall. It means that it has a drum like a frontloader but it is loaded through the top. The drum has an opening with a lid with a latch. These machines are still around here in Europe, they are especially popular in France. So no agitator here. Topload dryers are also still sold overhere but less popular than the normal frontload dryers.

BTW, the pants the model is wearing are actually back in fashion!!

Hi Louis-thanks for the pic of this set. I think these are so cool-makes great sense to design a washer and dryer like this and with the convenience of waist-high loading/unloading. I wish we had more like this available over here in the states. David
