I still seem to be able to post (and I'm seeing just as many ads as before... whatever...). This is a move of desperation - I'd very much like to move this matched 1972 Maytag A206 and DE306 washer and dryer set out of my workshop. I bought them for another collector who had begged me to let them know if an avocado laundry pair ever surfaced. These surfaced at an estate auction and I bought them, gave them a good cleaning and overhaul (the machines have NOT been rebuilt). Of course the other collector then backed out on me...
Both machines have been fully tested and are working correctly.
Here's the fine print: they are located in Ogden, Québec, Canada - about 10 minutes from the border where I-91 in Vermont runs out. They would have to be picked up the buyer - I know of no shipping services based here in Canada that will transport them (you may be able to make arrangements using UShip, but I cannot say for certain as it is a cross-border transport situation).
I'd like get back what I paid for the set - $250.

Amazing... Folks who bitch and whine and moan that "decent machines never surface" are amazingly silent. Oh, wait, they're the ones who badgered me endlessly to find them something like this. Whatever. There is always the crusher. I'll make videos of that I promise.

Everyone want's vintage....until you have some for sale. Then it's either crickets, or 20 excuses why they can't....

I reside in a garden apartment community and we are not permitted to have our own washers and dryers (must use a central laundry room managed by the landlord) but if I could have my own washer and dryer I would definitely buy a matched pair of 1968-1976 in harvest gold. I’m nudging 70 years old and have a collection of harvest gold w/d and refrigerator ads from magazines like Good Housekeeping from 1968-1976 that I’ve been collecting for years. Brings back good memories of the w/d set my mom had from new until probably 1986. Well, if my landlord permitted me to have w/d I’d definitely ask around for harvest gold and I would be an honest guy and make sure I bought them for an agreed price. I would never ignore the seller. Sellers work hard to find these beautiful 1970s gems. I respect that. Have a great harvest gold day everyone.
