thats the Whirlpool companion range to the dishwasher that had the flip out control console from the 80's.

Didn't seem to remain popular long, I see tons of black appliances in thrift and used appliance stores.

My kitchen appliances are all black which I like. I detest stainless steel and would never have them in my kitchen.

I am the same in my kitchen. Love black, and have just sparse amounts of aluminum and stainless trim on the appliances I have. It's a nice look.
