Miele Dishwasher Long Cycle Times

Hi all, I have a 2021 Miele G7366 dishwasher and it’s operated fantastically to date.

I always use the Quick Wash cycle almost exclusively which is an hour give or take to run. However, tonight it’s displaying that cycle to run almost for 3 hours. The other cycles when I selected them added about 2 extra hours as well.

Can anyone help me diagnose what’s happening and how to get it back to normal operation? I could not find any guidance in the manuals on this issue.

The residual time display is adaptive and responds to the conditions of previous cycles.

If something in a previous cycle caused some time extension, the DW display will that.
My G7100 from 2020 used to extend wash cycle times in the winter by up to 30min due to very cold intake water.

2h on top is a lot - but given it's a US machine, cold water and low heating power could add up with certain cycle operations.
Unless that behaviour continues, consider it a temporary glitch. Give it a few cycles, and see if times go back down.

Long dishwasher cycle times

I am not an expert on Miele dishwasher however, in general, it’s a very poor idea to use the one hour cycle on any modern dishwasher on a regular basis.

It just doesn’t clean sufficiently or reach the proper temperatures, etc.. We see a lot of US built dishwashers that turn into a horrible mess because people always want to use that one hour cycle, it usually uses more water and doesn’t reach proper temperatures and you get all kinds of buildup in the machine and nasty smells out of them.

Maybe your dishwasher is trying to correct the problem that been caused by the short cycle, the short cycle should only be used occasionally, I would not use it more than one out of 10 times if at all.

sensor cycle

If available, I'd stick with the sensor cycle for everyday use. If it doesn't, I'd go to normal cycle.

Long cycle time

can be related to an automatic cleaning/flushing of the Auto-Dos detergent dispensing system.

The Quick Intense cycle attains 140F during the Main wash and Final rinse. There is a 1300 watt water heater integrated into the wash pump.
