Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I may be very interested in your portable

I was just talking to my wife about trying to find a portable washer that we could somehow get into a condo without anyone knowing about it and your machine shows up today! I live in Flagler county but would surely have no problem driving down to O-town to get it.

Would anyone on here know if I could lay it on a particular side to get it to fit in My Matrix Hatchback? Is there a safe way to transport it without losing any transmission oil? This would be the first washer I was picking up in that car. I don't have our Mini Van anymore and sure do miss it!

Thanks, Rick

Good to know but it is a just a bit too far to drive! But you never know! Maybe someone closer could use it now that you posted about it.
Thanks.

Coming soon to a garage near you!

I am going to pick this little machine up this from Chris on Sunday morning.
Thanks, John, for letting me know the best way to transport it. Will keep everyone posted on the beginning of my Laundry collection!

Understand Steve. Even at a price of zero, gawd knows what crating/shipping would cost.

Chucked off a LOT of stuff moving to the poorhouse but held onto the laundry pair on the nanoscopic chance I'll get to use them again. "They don't make them like that anymore." They're too good to just craigslist them to some illegal alien who'd set them on fire never cleaning the lint screen.

I know somebody is going to ask, so it might as well be me... what happened stevet?

If I weren't a 24 hour drive away, I'd grab it.

I've Said This Before.

Properly crated a Hoover TT can easily ship via UPS. That is how my unit came (a fleaPay purchase) and aside from one of the casters being damaged (it managed to poke through the bottom of the crate), everything was fine.

Uline and others sell prefabricated crates that only require assembly. Failing that a box within a box provided they are the sturdy sort used for appliance shipping. Some sort of flooring such as Styrofoam should also be used to created sturdy platform. Thinking about it one should simply removed the casters (easily enough done) before shipping.

Hoover Twin Tubs are really quite compact machines and though UPS may charge a good amount is certainly will be cheaper than Craters and Freighters and most other shippers including these days U-ship.

Truth be told!

I always liked these smaller cousins to the big guys despite their limited capacity. My sister in law is about to move into a condo that has a single whirlpool "commercial" washer and dryer on each floor for each 8 units per floor.
I know she doesn't like the idea much that she has to do her laundry in that way so I figured a small portable would fit the bill and she can always just dry the clothes in the dryer.
While the contractors have replumbed the whole apartment to a central utility room the only drain in the room is for the Air Conditioning condensate line which I don't think would be good for a washer drain and the adjacent bathroom has the plumbing in the next wall 5 feet away so they could not put a standpipe in.
She could use the kitchen faucet but it is one of the newer more modern types with the extendable head so a unicouple would look bad there. So she kind of refused on those grounds and was afraid someone might find out she had the machine.
So I told Chris I would have to back out of the deal. But I still feel like I should get it and would not be surprised if I had it hooked up or easily hooked up in the garage at home, the wife would find stuff to wash in it. I can easily see her telling me to wash my uniforms in it. At least I could wash them and not spin them so they would not get all wrinkled in the Duet!.And I bet they would even come out cleaner!

So maybe I will reconsider and talk to Chris about it..And maybe even get his small Japanese built GE machine going for him.
