Thanks for the replies everyone . .
I haven't been online much as work is crazy. But, I must say that I'm enjoying the LG pair. Though I still love my Danby's, it is really nice to be able to wash much larger loads, as well as bedding that I could not wash in the 5 KG Danby's.
Washaholic - The "Tub Clean" cycle annoyed me when I first used it. I've always heard that you should do a high-temp maintenance wash before you first use your machine. So, I ran this cycle and it was SO LONG! Not that I would mind on a normal day, but I really was ready to begin washing in my new machine, and time was limited.
Austin - The Danby's are in the garage for now, but they will take turns with the F&P coming inside to hang out next to the LG's. Though I truly admire the true European design and high temperatures of the Danby's, I haven't found myself missing them just yet. : )
Nickuk - I LOVE my new house. It's hard to believe that it's been almost a year since I moved in! I do find it rather difficult to maintain a house, yard, job and still try to have a social life at the same time. I'm working on balance as we speak. And yes, the end-of-cycle signal does rather sound like a "cuckoo". Thanks for illustrating that for me. I knew that sound was familiar, but I just couldn't place it! LOL.
Here's what I really LOVE about the machine:
- CAPACITY. I am one of those "fresh towel every day" (or even every shower) kind of guys, so I do end up washing a lot of towels. I also have company in from out of town on a regular basis, so I find myself washing extra towels and bed-linens on a regular basis. I would normally have to wash at least 2 loads of towels a week in the Danby, but I can just run one in the LG. Though I do find myself just LOOKING for things to wash around the house. This machine is FUN.
- Water Plus Option. The biggest gripe about my Danby was the fact that you could only get a higher water level on the Permanent Press cycle. I like higher water levels for certain types of fabrics, so I would find myself manually adjusting the cycle timer a couple of times per load. That was getting rather old. Now I can wash ANYTHING, and just select "water plus" option - even on the Cottons or Sanitary cycles!
- One Word - RECIRCULATION! I am very impressed with the recirculation system. I believe the LG is the only FL machine available in the US with continuous recirculation. I think that really helps out - especially during those VERY FEW times I don't use the Water Plus option!
Spin Speed - The Danby was only 1000 RPM. This baby spins at 1320, if I recall. NICE.
LED Display and Electronic Controls - My washer has a brain! And it "cuckoo's" too!
Hopefully I will be able to post some video footage at some point. Though I must admit, after buying the LG pair, there's really nothing left over to buy a video camera! LOL
