I have a couple of questions I'm hoping someone can help me on. I have a Maytag Center dial set that is used daily.
My dryer a DE308 quit working the other day, the timer would kind of buzz when pushed, but didn't sound like it was working, so I purchased a new timer and replaced it. However when we turned it on you could smell heat (i'm assuming from the element) but nothing happened. Could it be the motor or maybe just a door switch.
Question 2:
I also purchased a new timer for the washer a A608 because the permanent press side didn't work and when you run it on a small load, during the spin it sounds like it's grinding in the tub. But when you run it on a med, reg,or large load it's fine. I'm going to post under this a copy of the new timer pic and I'm hoping someone will be able to tell me how to hook up the new timer so I can use the perm press side again and hopefully someone will also have good news and an easy fix on why during the spin it grinds only on a small load.
Thanks I'd really appreciate the help because I really love this set. The dryer belonged to my partners grandmother and the only way I would get rid of the washer that he hated was if I got the matching washer. Which magically appeared on craigs-list the next day after I said it so we went and bought it.
