Thought I would share a few picks of my 142. You will see the crack in the right side panel and the repaired agitator.

Hi Jon/Bob...

I think the machine looks great with the Cracked Glass. One thing to remember... At least you have the entire piece of glass even though it's cracked.

At least it's complete.

Don't know what to say about the Agitator repair, as I've never really saw anyone repair. You might over time find a original.

Nice Machine and Good Luck.

I contacted a gentlemen in Oakland 2 years ago about remaking some glass panels with the original striped/snowflake designs. He claimed that he could remake anything as long as he had a half way decent prototype to copy from. I thought about making a few runs of the 56-59 and 60-65 glass panels for the common TOL Maytag washers and dryers, as well as the rare 160/900/902 sets. I really need to get back in touch with him and see what kind of prices he charges, if he's still in business. You never know in this economy.......

Anybody else interested in some glass panels from these years?

Count me in Dan. I also thought about contacting Ricks Restoration in Vegas. He has glass reproduced all the time by someone. Probably be expensive given all his attention from the show.

You can see in the photo that the chrome frame of the control panel is bent above the crack. They must have whacked it pretty hard with something.

Very Nice!

Washed and dried my first couple loads and I am impressed! The old saying they don't make them like they used to sure rings true with these machines! Probably the smoothest running machines in my house, next to my 1948 GE fridge.
