First off-
that isn't a Kenmore. It's a G.E.

That house may have sat empty for 40 yrs. but the person who bought it that's trying to sell the DW has a brain that's been empty a heck of a lot longer.

Honestly, how could anyone (except someone with REALLY bad eyesight or a severe case of 'Schenley Double-Vision') get the name 'Kenmore' off of this machine?? EEESH!

I think xpanam's choice of title for this thread might have been a little tongue in cheek, hence all the exclamation points. What's really odd is this goofy seller coming up with the name Kenmore when the machine clearly says GE.

But as Eddie pointed out, what's up with all these early Mobile Maids hitting the market lately?

I know!  I've lost count of how many threads have been started in recent weeks about one of these models being up for grabs.

I do think I like them best.  The mobil maids are nice, but I really like that big red dial scene.

I wonder how so many of these survived in barely used condition.

Many portables survive because shortly after a family could afford the dishwahser, they moved to a new place with a builtin and kept the portable in the basement for "just in case" and then it gradually gets forgotten.

What's funny is that so many of these have the red panel and so few have had the turquoise panel.

"Dumber Than a Hoe Handle" should at least CLEAN UP the dishwasher and test it before offering it for 300 clams. The thing is nice-but in the picture it looks like a fefugee from the swap shop!

Red VS Turquoise Panel on a Mobile Maid

I believe that that the red panel was used on the 1956 models only. The earlier model (1955) had the turquoise panel. The design was completely changed for 1957.
