Hi all,

Had an amazing day. Collected this beauty this morning. Hotpoint Supermatic De Luxe 9410T (Teak) in as new condition. No leaks, no rust, no anything, just a thin layer of dust inside. I am so amazed with it and over the moon (words cant describe). It musnt have seen much use as everything internal and externl are like new, the clutch shoes are the original fibre ones and have lots of life. Date code 15 equals March 1987 so it will be 25 next month. I love it. I need a new fill hose sometime.

Enjoy, James.

I remember those in Canada as well!

Thanks for posting the pics...would love to see interior shots of the wash tub and spinner as well. I remember seeing those in Canadian department stores as a kid, and loving the smooth, grey rubber drain hose!

I have recently seen this picture of my mother playing cards in her small apartment with her (then future) mother-in-law and brother-in-law back in '73. I noticed that she had a small twin tub that looks similar to a Hotpoint. Is it?

Oh Lord, it must have been late when I made that post. I mentioned that this was my "Dream Hoover" when I meant to say "Dream Hotpoint" .. sheesh. :)

It seems wood tone was a trend on both sides of the pond!

Jon, if you ask Andy (Redcarpetdrew) HE will tell you "the shipping crate wasn't completely removed when it was delivered!"   LOL

James, beautiful Hotpoint twinnie, CONGRATS!   Do you have any pix with the top off / lid open?

Thanks!

Kevin

Hotpoint

Now that would be the ultimate twinnie here. The wood suggests 70's but it's much more modern looking in the control panel and such, and the date being a 1987 it's an odd contrast but I like it. Did these machines have matching dryers? I've heard quality had dropped a bit on the newer Hotpoint twins, where is 1987 in the timeline?

Thanks for the pics. It looks very similar to my parent's twin tub. The only difference I see it the badge on the top left part of the cabinet.

Mike,

Thank's for the pictures! I'm not sure about what you mean by the model number thing? 1986 was the first year Hotpoint used the 4-digit 94** model number. Introducing the 9400 Supermatic Plus and the 9410 Supermatic De Luxe like Paul & Rob's Almond one and my Teak one. After two years of production in 1988 the final two models in the Supermatic timeline were intorduced, the 9404 Supermatic Plus and 9414 Supermatic De Luxe being produced until around 1996/7. The build quality of 9410 being better than 9414 by having less use of plastics and less cost saving measures.

James.

BUT...

Before model 9414 was model 9410. Sorry to sound thick here LOL! 9410 was introduced in 1986 along with the 9520, 9530, 9540 and 9560 for example. 9414 was introduced in 1988 with 9524, 9534, 9544 etc. Paul and Rob have a 9410A. Lucky you finding a NIB 9414. Does anyone have the manual for the 9410 because there is one up on the Hotpoint website but it's B&W.

James.
