A new "Spin" on Holiday Lights

Time to switch out machines again, and what better than beautiful Fridigaire's with lights! Great dryer, I got this last spring and this is the first I have used it. A Filtrator with some air flow, the best of both worlds in my opinion! There was a device called the Veritas Pump assembly. From what I can tell, it was like a siphon that attached to the washer drain hose which would pull the water from the drip pan and drain it. The previous owner must have used it because all of the hoses are attached but alas, I am sure nobody thought that piece was for the dryer and it probably got thrown out with the washer or just left on! Anybody have any experience with these?

Holly Cow Don - that is one magnificent looking set! So many buttons for the pushing, how can you go wrong?

Is it possible you can rig something up in place of the missing pump? If I'm reading correctly, once the dryer has completed the cycle, it triggers this pump to take the water from the drip tray to the washer drain hose? What a great idea! You don't happen to have a way of contacting the previous owner's still?

Complete with Jet Action!

Those seem to be fairly rare, that is the model with separate timer knobs and windows. I think the later rollermatics had rectangular dials, didn't they? Great machines!

GM Frigidaire

I can wax nostalgic looking at Frigidaire products from the 60's. They were absolutely stunning pieces, an art form, machines in motion. The quality of engineering, the lights, chrome, action and the sheer weight of Frigidaire products was testimony to the Pride of Ownership we all felt. The machinea are flawless and grand.

Update, with tub shot

The pump assembly worked when the washer was draining. It acted as a siphon and pulled the water out of the condensor tray from the dryer, pretty cool huh? The directions for it said that you could dry up to about 2 loads in it before the washer should be ran to siphon out the water. Would love to see a pic of this gizmo. (am I spelling siphon correctly??)
Here is a tub pic, the machine is really nice to have up and running, so fun and brings back memories of my Grandma's, hers was the model one step down from this. She never had a dryer.

Wow Don, that is a clean looking tub! Those Deep Action Agitators are always so fun to watch, and listen to.

Thanks for the info on the drain system! I did some looking in the parts books and I now see what is going on. Is there a drain outlet on the upper right hand side on the back of your dryer? It looks like a hose then connected to a piece that would fit over the normal washer drain. The hose connected at a 45 degree angle, guessing to provide a vacuum draw from the drain down to the drip tray to pull the water out when water is being channeled through the drain via the washer draining. Very cool looking system! Did you need a scan of the parts picture?

Wonderful examples of the TOL models Don! I love the chrome on the edges of those machines too. Really sets these models off from the rest.
Looks like you have a MINT set there, and they just shine as new, inside and out!

Why did manufacturers stop making light control panels? It would seem to be a nice convenience. Does anyone know when the last light ones were made and what brand?

Would love a scan Ben, maybe I could make that work somehow. These are from 1965. As far as the lights, I just love machines with lights and turn them on all the time. Don't they clean better with the lights on????? I will say though that when I was a kid, I never remember anyone who had a machine that had a light on it that actually turned them on. Kenmore's lights just came on, but those with a manual switch like these Frigidaire were never turned on..... unless I was visiting!

Question for anyone: Is the space capsule agitator known only as Deep Action? Which type is called Jet Action? I thought it was the mid-to-late 60's machines, but I must be mistaken. Is Jet Action for the 1-18s? I thought those were Jet Cone agitators.

The Deep Action agitator is the space-capsule type on the solid-tub machines. The Jet Cone or Jet Action agitator is on the 1-18s.
