So, ever since we moved to the new digs in St-Lib, I've been doing my best to 'retro-fit' the kitchen especially.  Hubby graciously agreed to having the Flair range, Imperial CyclaMatic refrigerator, and KDS54 dishwasher (all turquoise, of course) in the new kitchen.  OK, to be fair he didn't have a choice... Phil and I moved them in the minute I got keys to the house... LOL

BUT, we had this misfit microwave... A 2004 Sunbeam (not a real Sunbeam a 'Special Happy It'll Break in 10 Minutes So You Have To Buy New One' version).  It just didn't quite look right....

Well, no more!  Phil very kindly picked up this Amana RR4D Radarange for me a couple of weeks ago and I went to his place yesterday to retrieve it.

What a beauty - it's a 1974 model (Phil traced the serial number and I spotted components with a 1974 date stamp).  It works perfectly still, which I was not surprised about.

There had been a bit of damage to the door liner and the previous owner had tried to repair it.  Phil, however, thought he could do better so he did.  He literally welded the broken plastic back together and replaced the crumbled foam gasket around the oven door window.  I was too busy gawking at that nifty Frigidaire-Disguising-As-A-D&M dishwasher, the turquoise WCI65 washer and the matching dryer that was in the state of of so many of my 'projects' (that is - in pieces scattered around the basement...).

The Radarange suits the look and feel of the kitchen, I think.

So, who wants to take bets on how long it takes Hubby to twig on to this?  He's in Brazil until October 1st... LOL
