A new Vintage Washroom...

There are a few modern washers & dryers as well as the vintage , Al`s modern Miele set and my trusty Maytag Euroline set made by Asko, these have been with me since just before the convention @ Roberts in 2001 and have journeyed with me through thick and thin and have been present at wash-ins when all have come together.

The digital displays can be problematic after storage, as I was cleaning them I had forgotten I had plugged them in at the mains - on cleaning the start button on the fascia they came on, I was startled as I wanted them to acclimatise and thought I might have damaged them - never fear that display lit up perfectly, it was a good sign of a long and weary road travelled, I dialled a spin and they roared to life, and the tears did flow!!
Life had come full circle and complete!!

I've got to get on the Noon Plane and get over there for  an international Wash-In® !

 

I'm so glad the Keymatics were first !!!!!!!!!! Will there be Bendixxxii??

 

That Parnall is TO DYE FOR !! What a gorgeous space, you guys have done wonders.

 

WOW to see your Nan's wash board - to have your Nan's washboard is amazing!

 

Nice to see the Hotpoints up and at'em again too!

Lots more work to do, repairs, detailing, and swap arounds etc, and now with regular meets hopefully more can come and enjoy!! Of course any meet isnt complete without the proverbial Tea and lots of homemade Sunbeam beaten Cake - Enjoy!!

Hi Jon well get that ticket booked and come play Keymatics, and use again the one you first used in the Isle of Wight all those years ago!! Yes we need a few drams after it all!!

Greg, ta very much, you get to the point if you dont do it, it wont happen - and thanks to Alistair for getting us all going with it!!

Tea & Cakes

Need to cue Al for the recipe, coconut sponge with strawberry jam and pink icing on top!! Yum
This was the week Marguerite Pattern passed away so we used her cookbook and recipies in honour of her years at the "Ministry of Food"

What a great washroom! I enjoyed watching all the pictures to see how the work got on. The outcome is marvellous. BTW, I have that same Acme spindryer! Good luck building the dishwasher studio.

Great to have vintage cookbooks. And the food looks much better than in Back in time for dinner! ;-)

I'm unfamiliar with most if not nearly all the washers in your collection, but it's a prize collection excellently displayed. I think the blue color is probably different "in person", but the contrast idea was definitely good. The Hoover collection is !!! great. Your collection exceeded my imagination of what you were planning for that space.

I can confirm ...

... that, as one of the early visitors, the place is fantastic!

Congratulations to Al and Mike on a grand transformation of a room, into a superb museum space (one of a number at that address!).

All hard work paying off and it is lovely to see lots of familiar old machines, that we all worshipped at 'Shavvy Av', settled in their new home and able to be seen working again.
Plus we have those machines secured over the more recent years, such as Al's Philips Variatronic 082 (a childhood machine of mine) and the Parnall Spinwasher.
Just brilliant! Well done guys.

and using my 3022(v2) dryer and Mathew's 3243H keymatic, it was a big nostalgia trip for me to see Mr & Mrs Holt's (from number 1) matched set of machines again. Their big washroom was blue too!

I've said it before and I'll say it again - it looks fantastic. You have worked really hard on it and the results are amazing and a great way to show the collection. I can't believe you have fitted all those machines in there and still have plenty of room.
