A CONTROL TOWER FILTRATOR DRYER!!!.....and then Lightedcontrols hollered "come quick!" It was A 1962 CUSTOM IMPERIAL FILTRATOR DRYER WITH THE OWNERS MANUAL!!! Both in pretty mint shape!

WOW guys, can't believe it!!! A 1957 FRIGIDAIRE CONTROL TOWER FILTRATOR?? TALK ABOUT RARE!!! YAY!!! And the 1-18 is great! 2004 has really been good year so far!! I'm going appliance hunting again this weekend...wish me luck! I really need to bring home something!

Also, I recognize Steve, but who are the other two guys?

WOW!!

Literally hunting for appliances-in the woods like the deer? Its amazing they were in such good condition-not corroded or faded. Its almost like they were dumpted out there recently.Liked the picture of the scene.Looks like several fridges in there and what looks like a dryer drum.Guess we better check the woods!

Control Tower!!!

Wow guys, what incredible finds!!! Thanks for posting the pictures, its so much fun to see everyone and the finds too!

the other two guys

One of the guys is Steve (Gyrofoam)
One of the guys is Mark (lightedcontrols)
One of the guys is Bob the guy that owned the woods!

Congrats....., here in the NYC area, those machines are hidden from the rest of the world for no one to see until its placed on a curb in the suburbs where a city slicker would not see the light of them......

Good luck and happy washing!

Very Lucky !!

I want some.
Is it to late for me to call dibs on the late 70s harvest gold GE washer.
Wouldn't it be great to go for a walk in the woods and just find something so wonderful, acres and acres of abandon machines. It's what dreams are made of.

Good Going Guys !!

Hi i70's and Gansky!
The control tower is another one! Just found it yesterday. Now I have two! The GE washer I didn't really take a look at, but if you want, I'll go back and take a look and let you know what kind of shape it's in. The goodies in the deep woods were in really bad shape. Most of the stuff had been sitting there for quite a while but still was in great shape. The 62 Dryer even had the owner's manual inside even though it was a little damp (but not mildewed). Unfortunately, by the time we found this place, Bob (the owner) had already taken lots of it to the recycler. :~( Mark

Thanks for the pictures Mark / Steve

Great finds!
You guys look like you are having so much fun!
Are you bringing the 1-18 back to Atlanta with you Steve?
The washer looks like it is in great shape!
