They made some beautiful 40" electric ranges with the shadow-box backsplash in the late 50s & into the early 60s, but strangely, they kept the surface unit controls on the front of the 40 inchers while putting them in the shadow box of the 30" ranges. I only saw gas Tappans in Atlanta at the gas company and at a furniture store that was closing out appliances, but I don't remember an electric Tappan at all other than builtins at a sort of cabinet place.
