Vintage D&M. Before I saw the second photo, I recognized the door latch as like the one on a friend's American Kitchens DW.

1960 Youngstown dishwasher

As others mentioned, this was made by DNM, the good thing is DNM dishwashers were actually pretty good in the late 50s early 60s and most other dishwashers were pretty bad except for KitchenAid, and a few other others.

Unfortunately, DNM really started going downhill and everybody else was getting better DNM's after 1967 were really bad and never got any better

My parents had a dishwasher like this. I guess it was OK, but dishes had to be rinsed off before loading, and the plastic impeller frequently got massacred by an errant loose eating utensil.

Having grown up in Michigan, the irritating fact and irony that so many wonderful antiques pop up there is not lost on me. Most generational Michigander families had cabins up north and I remember some pretty cool vintage stuff in those cabins even in the 90s.

Very cool dishwasher - hope it finds a good home
