Help Support :

LOL!

Hey Lawrence.

I believe Fairy is Dawn over there?- I guess its such an established brand over here P&G dont mind the Fairy jokes :).

Greg

Those are Liquitabs- a liquid filled pouch that disolves on contact with water you just thow in the drum before the laundry. I wouldnt normally buy them as they work out expensive and theres no control over dosage- but I wasnt gonna turn down a freebie :)

Seamus-

Yes, Fairy for hand-washing dishes is called Dawn over here.

Cascade is the machine P&G brand here. However, it looks very similar. Probably very close in formula, too.

I haven't yet been to the UK, plan to, however. My heritage is half Welsh(Abergavenny is the family seat), and when I go back to the States, I am sure there will be at least one Fairy in my baggage!

Nope

Hey Spoodles

I work in an appliance sales/repair shop - obviously P&G think we will recommend their products more if we know how they work etc, and if we have used them - hence the samples :)

Gel Packs

I tried them for a while, but found that for my 7kg front loader, one was too little and two were too much - a good idea, but somehow not ready for show time.
Better for dishwashers - you could design a plastic which only melts when the temperature gets above 35° or so...
It's funny when you see all the name brands which don't get changed by clueless marketers - I guess the Pajaro did not sell very well in Spain, for instance.
And I do think SMEG was not the best possible choice for kitchen appliances, somehow...

We used to have Fairy over here, years before any of us were born. It was NOT a P & G brand when it was first seen; it was a competitor to P & G's Ivory Soap, first sold in 1878. P & G only acquired the Fairy trademark later, in 1930, when it bought the British company (Thomas Hedley Ltd.) who had bought the trademark from the American originators.

Here's a link to the early history of Fairy:
