I lost my hair before I was 20. I used glasses as "face jewelery" to break up the vast expanse of skin that begins at my collar and ends at the back of my head.

Christmas 1970

Free

Divorced, losing weight, dating a beautician who wanted to use me as a model to sell men's wigs. Didn't need glasses to break up the terrain, so I switched to contacts.

Broke up and Bald

We broke up and the free wigs became 300.00 a pop, so back to old chrome dome.

In the kitchen

In the kitchen weilding a Sunbeam or two and at the contols of a GE Versatronic range.

The morning after the night before

Up all night at the hospital with Kati being born and home to get Shana to school.

Delivery

Coming home from Bronson Hospital in Kalamazzo with daughter Kati. These glasses were a favorite. My wife always called them safety glasses because they were clear.

Never Try this at Home

Auctioning Celebrity hats, made and modeled by the celebrity.
Model 5 Sunbeam connected and running during the bidding

Cazell

The year before I quit drinking, 260 pounds and wearing a pair of 650.00 Cazells. They looked like a cross between hubcaps and the adornment on Buick fenders.

entire life flashed before my eyes...

Kelly's. those fashions! wonder how you ever doubted you were a big ole quee... gay?

Doubt?

I knew at 19, ran during the first marriage, horrible rejection from the other team in the 70's, remarried in 78 and knew but hid and felt I had a covenent with God because of the amazing children, everywhere I went people assumed and accused, I was judged and never enjoyed the crime, came out in 2004, met some one who actually thinks I am attractive, marvels I was still the Vestal Virgin in my 50's and oddly enough act straighter out than when I was in. Go figure.

I hope I win the award for the longest runon sentence in print.

These are definitely your best years, appearancewise Kelly! I didn't realize you baked professionally. No wonder you're such a whiz with all that stuff!

I have no intention of giving up my fake hair, but if I did I'd most definitely have to go with the shaved head, as I believe you are now doing as well.

The Best is Yet to Come

A world wide study concluded that at 57 people are the happiest. No kids, more money, relative good health and you understand the rules of engagement. Life is easier and more rewarding each year you get older.

And Kelly,.....

This is your life!
Thank you for bringing us down memory lane. How very interesting.
You have captured many Kodak moments in your life, and I am sure there will be more in your future.
Life it way too short not to enjoy.

Kelly, great thread. Glasses in the USA were a bit bigger than overhere in Europe I guess especially in the late seventies, early eighties. I saved most of the glasses I had. Here's a picture of the ones I still have. At the front is the oldest I have and so it goes from front to back, the last one being the current one I am wearing. Brands: Skaga, Brendel (this one is actually broken in the middle), again Brendel, unknown, Giorgio Armani, Matsuda, Dolce & Gabbana and ic berlin. Sometimes when I bought new ones the old ones were converted into sunglasses. The blue glasses in the Matsuda frame was for computer use.

I am a goof. Anytime I think I find something outside the US it will have a cooler style and be like nothing anyone can find. I like the glasses and have thought of the brushed steel look like your newest pair.

I have a wonderful optometrist. I just tell him what I don't want and then he picks a few frames out for me. This was number three when I went there to choose a new frame, we were done within five minutes.

The "ic berlin" collection is great, all variations on the same theme but all having their own character. Mine is model Paul, which was taken out of the collection. New in their product line are the colored plastic frames. Mine is very light weight, quite a difference with the older glasses. "ic berlin" frames are sold in the USA too.
