A tear in my eye

I am playing TAPS and a vid of a Whirlpool that my grandmother had... RCA Whirlpool 1969 that was purchased the day i was born... 8/12/1969 it was the imperial and i have a vid of me just staring at it while it ran.... man when the light went on for the magic filter... i was so excited... and to hear it kick into spin with its drop in sound till it picked up speed... you all know what i mean... LOVED IT!!!!!!

I have a WP Imperial-it has the metal clothes guard ring-and it still works.got it from the swap shop several years ago.Guess they are going-going-GONE?theres got to be some 80's Bd KN-WP out there somewhere.

Tolivac -

These machines are still out there in fairly plentiful numbers. Sure many newer designs are more plentiful, but they are out there. People say they see them at crushers (unfortunately) and behind Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. all the time. Sears still sells a good many parts, some are apparently even on some fast-moving parts lists.

People at the rebuild shops all generally say they're too old to work on. May be the case too for the swap shops?

If you want a 1980s KM/WP machine, I have enough that I won't miss one, especially WPs. I have at least 5 1982-1984 higher-end Whirlpool Supreme models (pic below of one), several of which came from Arizona and are rust-free. Just write me here if you would like one of them.

Like Gordon says..."everybody who's anybody should have at least a few beltdrives in their collection!"....lol.....this is the one I found on the side of the road, only missing an agitator cap, which is now complete thanks to Gordon (hugs), I have the dispenser also......runs perfect, and still can't find out why they threw it out.......although I did turbocharge it!...video to come soon!....

I like these 2 machines best, they seem ALL-PURPOSE machines....variable water levels, multi-temp options, basic yet plenty of cycle options and largest capacity...

i leave word at the swap shops if they run into any BD KN-WP to contact me.They still have to be out there-somewhere.Like the idea of getting a WP from Gordon if all elese fails.Charlotte NC area seems to be less of a "land of rust" than where I am.Its kinda of a dead zone here.and to make things not so good I don't have a vehicle or truck to haul the washers in.Gordon has some very nice machines-used to see ones like them at the swap shops!and just wished I had more space-no basements in my neck of the woods.
