Thanks to freecyle I picked up a KDS21 yesterday. AWESOME!!! Needs a really good clean up and new racks.
Here are some pics. Any advise y'all have about cleanup is appreciated. Are the racks of a 22-23+ series compatible?

the other find ( a while back)

Was on my way to Taco Bell from school on an alternate street and had to make a really fast u-turn and look what was on the curb. The owners were on their way out the driveway, asked if i could have it, they said sure and it even still worked. Haven't had time to test it though, it doesn't looks like it has been used alot at all! :-)

here is a craigslist free find

This was about 8 months ago. Sweet! This is my daily driver along with the Hobart. Only has had about 2 flood code freakoutst. One time had water in the base, the other nothing the second time. Other than that, just one time not to long ago the top drawer wouldn't drain, couldn't really tell why, but flushed it out and got it going again. Does a pretty good job. Always use the heavy wash and Cascade.

Yep, second dishwasher is a KDS-18. It seems to be in very good shape. I don't think it was used very much. It is pretty clean and the wash arm has little wear where it contacts the pump housing. What kind of material did they make the pumps and cental part of the washarm from? In my Hobart and also on the Kitchenaid, you get this stringy fiber like material on the strainers that you can tell comes from the pump housing. I have put i think 2 pump housings in the Hobart since I have had it. It only had 4 screws holding the two parts together and over time it would warp, the gasket would get pushed out and water would come out the sides of the pump. When you buy it new, it is nice, shinny, and smooth, but over time, it gets rough and seems to degrade. I have put 4 extra screws in the pump housing to keep it from warping.

That 2nd Superba is just like one my grandmother had in stainless steel. My favorite of all Kitchenaid models.

Have a good one,
James
