A sure sign of Spring

Odd looking top rack. Is the cage thingy hanging down for juice glasses? The cutlery basket looks like the ones in D&M dishwashers.

OMG!

The 'roll away' dishwasher in reply #5 (in Antique Coppertone, no less!) was the dishwasher our family had when I was a brat!! We had it from sometime in the 60s (can't remember the exact year but '67 would seem to be a damn good possibility) until 1979, when the kitchen in the 'city' house was renovated. Fortunately, Latvians never throw anything away and the 'Wiking dissvasher' got moved to our house in the Eastern Townships. I grabbed from that house not long after my mother passed away and I moved into a big enough apartment with room for. That was in 1987. I kept the machine until '89 when I...gasp...trashed it due to a dead drain pump.

If only I known...[this post was last edited: 1/28/2014-16:55]

"A Sure sign of Spring," indeed. We can only hope!

Beautiful stuff, Brian, a real smorgasbord of washers, something for everyone. Thanks for showing, and reminding us that despite the tight grip of the Polar Vortex, Spring will come. Loved the generous, very ample hoses on the Wringers; so many other brands were stingy in that regard.

Hey, I've got a question: The Viking Automatics in posts 8 & 9 look like Norges. Is that who made them?

Viking De Luxe Convertible dishwasher in reply #5

That's exactly what our Waste King looked like that was installed the day Martin Luther King Jr. was murdered. Those same exact shaped white buttons, white dial, and the little red lights on either side of the buttons. Even the area where the logo on the door appears, the same shape. Interesting, it sounds like it had a Ss interior. I am not sure when WK began offering SS interiors here.
