Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

A Blackstone Model 250!

This machine needs some work, and some definite cleaning, but it runs great, and once we patch the outer tub (why did they use stainless steel for the inner tub, and all the technology of a plastisol GE for the outer tub???), it should be ready for lots of High-Velocity Spray overflow rinses :-)

(Thanks, Nate, for posting the pictures.)

Congrats, Ross - it's going to be a lot of fun washing in this machine, I love mine!

It is amazing that Blackstone didn't use better material for the outer tub - this was changed from the first models 50a and 150 that I have with galvanized outer tubs - I wonder why they did that...

Hi Greg. I cannot figure why they used expensive stainless steel inner tub and cheap sheet metal outer tub. Roger, Nate, and I tried to get inner tub out but there were 4 what appears to be 4 tiny allen type screws at the top of the agitator shaft and they would not budge....so we could not get the tub out to see where outer tub is leaking. I guess when Manny brings Thor back later this month, he will take Blackstone down the shop.

Hi Louis. My machine is a model 250. They started with model 50, then 150, then 250, then 350 which Roger has. I have model 250.

Whoa! Congratulations Ross. That's a really unusual machine. I love that knob-on-the-front-dial-on-the-top design.

And talk about easy servicing! Those two doors look like such a good idea. Do they meet in the middle of the front when they're closed? Maybe it's an optical illusion, but the doors look wider than half the cabinet.

Go Ross!!

I love it!! The tub is in great shape, and you've got to love those double doors. Even though you don't play favourites, I know who you love the best...... ;-)

Congrats again on a unique find!! Keep those Blackstones rolling in!!

Steve...Since Nate, Roger, and I could not get the tub out, looks like the machine goes down to the shop for surgery with Dr. Manny when he brings back the Thor....will probably be there for months....I never rush Manny....but he did say that he is bringing the Thor back this month....

Veg.....Yes, there are two doors in the front and they open for easy servicing...yes, the doors meet in the middle....looks just like a cabinet...

Robert....yes, we look forward to your coming to Tucson someday to see our collections.....Roger, Nate, and Ross

Greg....I guess that Blackstone did cheap tubs on newer machines to cut corners....

Blackstone 250 Repairs and Parts

I have quite a few outer tubs for this model Blackstone (including brand new one, if I remember correctly), although freight shipment from Massachusetts to Arizona might be significant. I also have tops and doors in better condition, along with many other parts, up to and including transmissions. Email if interested, and I also may be able to help with repair questions.
