This green machine was found about three weeks ago. It has 4 wash combinations with two impeller speeds, two spin speeds, overflow rinse, end of cycle buzzer, lint filter and two rinse settings. Should be called a Lady Panosonic.

Hi Don, That is a beauty!! The Arzonia guys found one similar but not quite as deluxe under the Bradford name. We had so much fun with that machine the last time I was out there. You will love it!! Do share the details of how you found this beauty and have you tried it yet? Terry

Holy cow...! I've been thinking about semi-automatic TTs now, and there you have it, Panasonic invented it twenty or more years ago. In the last few years, Panasonic made TTs with a "soakmatic" feature that let you pre-set a soak time, during which the impeller would rotate a couple of turns every 10 -15 minutes to give the detergent and water a bit of movement.

I'd be interested to see interior pics, closeups of the controls, and decent scans of the user manual.

BTW, if you ever consider selling that one, let me know.

It's aliiiiive !!!

That thing is gorgeous. I thought I had seen every machine alive, but I have never seen that one. Will you get it running, and post pix? Does it spray rinse in addition to overflow?

So many people predicted the death of the twin tub; yet new ones are being made daily by four different companies.

I heard a twin tub say the other day: "Hey Mikey, the news of my death has been greatly exaggerated. "

Very cool Don!

I wonder what year it was made.

Would love to see some shots under the hood(s)!

Have you tested it out yet?

Jim

Don has a COLLECTION of TT's!

Don, you should group all four of your TT's together for a family picture. This Pansonic is a fun looking machine, definitely the most deluxe of the lot. Hoover, Maytag, Panasonic and JCPenney (?)so you'll be able to give us the best reviews - your own Twin Tub Testing Lab.

I went looking on the various Panasonic websites (they differ for each part of the world) and discovered they are still making TTs including at least one that has a spin/rinse function similar to the Hoovermatic. They make them in capacities ranging from about 4# to about 20#, the latter having two impellers and being billed as the world's largest TT (having beaten Haier by one pound).

Unfortunately these are mostly sold in the Middle East (where chronic water shortages are a significant factor), though they still carry them in Japan also, and in the Philippines. I think the AC power is the same in Japan as in the US. Anyone know about the Philippines?

So I wonder if there is an electronics or appliances shop in Japan or the Philippines that could ship to the US...? And I wonder if something is shipped from the Philippines, if (due to the special relationship they have with the US) there would be no customs duty due at our end...?
