Had a visit to our AW member Ian (TriumphDolomite) at his home in the Midlands, Staffordshire UK for a catchup and to get a few repairs done. Ians Aunty Brenda was a demonstrator for the MEB our local Electricity Regional Showrooms back in the 60`s and the machines he has where all sold and demonstrated at that time, always a delight to listen to stories of the machines being demonstrated and sales techniques of old...

Heres Darren (Slowspin66) and Ian viewing parts diagrams, the marvels of mobile technology....love the fly curtain to the laundry area, just like my nans...

But first off,, you should know us by now, its "Always Time For Tea"....Wedgewood style of course, homemade butter delights all whipped up in the Kenwood....

First up was to free off the spin pump on his latest acquisition, A 1060`s Duomatic twintub, this was the pre-cursor to the Rolls Twintub, a very sturdy but simple washing machine. Also to refit new heater wires and tidy up.

And here is the Duomatic ready for action, here in Ians newly fitted retro 70`s Hygena kitchen..

A simple control panel, on the LHS a four minute clockwork timer and on the left an On / Off / Heater selector...A neon indicator light for the heater.

At the Hygena double drainer sink unit ready for action...

The lids are made of aluminium and are dual function, the holes in the top allow you to lift the lids and also to fit the water hoses for filling and rinsing.

Lids off, money shot, a white porcelain washtub uses the small fast revolving pulsator to swirl the clothes through the washwater, the aluminium spin can has holes to fling the water out, both use direct drive motors with pumps attached, a very simple operation.

next up was to use Ians Belling cooker to pop the homemade lasagne in, and cook ready for dinner...Just lok at that illuminated control panel. This was the first fan oven to be sold by Belling a very traditional British manufacturer.

Full view, fitted rather neatly into the Hygena units and love the Russell Hobs K2 iconic kettle...

The cooker is in excellent condition for its age , the fan oven makes easy work of fast even heating,

A here is the Servis Superheat wringer washing machine, takes a large 9lb washload and uses the famous Servis Hi-Zone washing agitator...

Time for dinner, homemade lasagne, made by Darens hands and salad followed by lashings of tea and cake...
