Heck, where I am is always accused of being part of Canada. Not a problem, they are my good friends and relatives, except now we need a passport to cross over.
My maternal side has been in the county since the 1860's-1870's time frame. My dad's family has for the most part, been in Marathon County since the mid 1850's. Both sets of grandparents moved to Wausau shortly after their marriages (1932 & 1936 respectively). I only moved 2 blocks from home when I got married 15 1/2 yrs ago.
But my real home is Prior Lake MN. Although I now live in neighboring Burnsville P.L. is still home. We lived in Norristown PA for the first 4.8 years of my life then came to Prior Lake in 1983 where I lived until 2013 when I moved in with my fiancé/now wife in Burnsville.

South Africa! 1st Johannesburg for my 1st 18.5 years of life, now in Cape Town.
South Africa - the land where Speed Queens (and all other top loaders) still fill right to the top of the drum on a full load setting without having to adjust pressure switches, and where dumbed down water temperatures or ATC and flow restrictors (on top loaders. All our front loaders and dishwashers are cold fill only) are unheard of - even the newest front loaders stil reach 60C or 40C when those temps are selected. Happy days!
Posting from Valenza, Province of Alessandria, Piemonte Region, Italy.
Here a slideshow of historical pictures of the town....accompanied by the melody of Ginetto Prandi, the town's "official" Folk singer..(singing exclusively in dialect, piedmontese dialect of Valenza). post was last edited: 6/23/2014-06:44]
Born and raised right here in Sarnia Ontario Canada. Left after highschool for a quick stint in London Ontario then westward to Vancouver BC for about 12 years and Calgary Alberta for 22. Retired and came back home although I never thought nor really wanted to. However I'm glad we did now. It's a good central location within easy driving distance to so many places and being right on the US border (5 minutes from my driveway) you get the best of both.
Went to college in Louisiana, became slightly southernized. Lived in Bloomington, MN, Denver, CO and Countryside, IL. with my job.
Moved to Texas prior to retirement. As Arbilab stated "Only here cuz' it's the cheapest place with moderate winters and tolerable mosquitoes." And it's cheap to live here if you can put up with the general lack of common sense you find here.
I haven't been to the Chicago area in 8 years now. When I am up there I no longer feel a connection to the place. It's been 35 years since I actually lived there.
But culturally I'm somewhere between Houston and New Orleans with a German twist.
Born in Nashville, Tn and raised in a suburb of it. Moved to KY in 1998. I like Bowling Green, but will eventually move back to Nashville at some point in my future.
Stephanie, did you ever eat at Mason's Restaurant on Dickerson Pk. (31W)? We stopped there several times when on our way to MS. Remember getting good hamburgers and fries there when I was a kid. Saw it was still there when I went down last summer, but wasn't time to eat then.
