Answers...

Sanitary temp is available in heavy duty, whitest whites, and normal.
The amount of time added depends on cycle. Normal 30min, ww 52min, HD 4min.

Steam adds 20min, unless you have selected sani temp.

Wrinkle release adds 10 min of dry tumbling after final spin to fluff up the clothes.

Wash video

My HD camera is dead. So video will be courtesy of cellphone. Which also means it will be brief.

I'll see if I can capture some wash action next time I run it.

Congrats on the new machines...

Hi Malcolm.

I have the 70 series washer and dryer that have just past their one year old mark.

Over 250 washes (tracked by suggested clean cycle every 50 washes).

I've read that the Pre-wash doesn't drain and spin before going into the main wash program, is that true? Does it just go into the main wash without draining and spinning (like the 60/70 does)?

I also don't like how it doesn't tell you what part of the cycle it's on. Like it doesn't say it's Pre-washing, Rinsing, Washing, Draining, Spinning, Adding Steam...etc (like the 60/70 does). So you don't know where in the cycle it is.

Along with what you like...what don't you like? I know the cycle times are way longer.

I really love my Electrolux 70 series washer and dryer.

Would love to see videos of your 6xx.

Progress Lights

Okay. I am learning a little.

There are six progress LEDs underneath the countdown timer. Here is what I think they mean...

1. Load Sense / Stain Soak
2. Steam
3. Washing
4. Wash Spin
5. Rinse
6. Final Spin

Led 2 gets skipped, so I am assuming it represents steaming. Idk for sure, though.

You could start a Spin Only cycle and see if the LEDs jump to the last one immediately.

Still learning all the caveats around these machines. The cycles aren't set in stone like the previous SQ machines. Working on a couple videos. Stay tuned.

Sounds like my LG set.  None of the cycles are set in stone either.  Even the tumble and spins are very different considering the load weight. 

 

Makes it much more interesting.

Just to add to this discussion, I bought the set a couple months ago and the chrome on the front control panel started to peel off. I emailed Electrolux to get it replaced and after several exchanges with the customer service rep, they agreed to send a replacement free of charge. The washing on this is excellent but we shall see about its durability.

Is there a variance in tumbling speed between whites, heavy duty, normal and causal? Or does it vary within the cycle, like slow to fill or drain, but aggressive when main washing or rinsing?
