A206S doesn't spin out

I got this interesting piece of machinery from a junk store for $44.98 and have gotten 8 months out of it but it is giving me a little grief. Sometimes it doesn't pump all the water out, and sometimes it doesn't spin fast enough, so that jeans and towels are still wet when they are done.

Now the appliance store (you know what they wanted me to do, buy a new one) gave me an outrageous story. From their sales pitch, I understand there are nylon glides that the motor moves on? Anyways, they told me that it would be over $200 to fix. I think they were trying to fleece me.

Now the question would be where to start? Is there such an animal as nylon glides? I have looked at some parts places online (AP Wagner Canada, Whirlpool, etc) and I'm just stuck. If I take it apart without parts, I'm gonna get stuck washing my clothes in a beatty wringer (which I bought to wash my rail clothes in anyways).

I know she's not pretty, but I've attached a picture. Any ideas on a parts schematic diagram so I can not look like a moron when I go to ask for parts?

Oh, and those buttons, can I order new ones? Where?

Holy S**t, $200 for $7 worth of parts and 20 min of your time? Better be some serious sexual favors included in that price, lol.

The spring and glide kit (which also comes with 2 small tubes of polylube) is part # 205000. Should be available at any appliance parts place since the same kit was used from the early 1960's-2006. The older glides were round, but the newer glides are square. Both round and square glides are interchangeable with each other, so no worries there. While you're under there, check the belts. They very well may be original and in need of replacement.

As for the buttons, they're now getting very hard to find new. There are still some appliance parts places that have them on the shelf though. If you come up empty handed, take a closeup pic of the switch and I'll see if I have those particular buttons in my parts stash. Good luck!

How come nobody told him to make sure it's draining properly? It could be something as simple as a kinked drain line, a clogged pump, or a quarter blocking off the tub sump.

If the machine isn't draining right, it will NEVER ramp up to spin.

I'd change the belts before I tried anything else...THE easiest thing to do as far as repairs, and one of those things that "should" be done to make the machine last as long as possible.
