Hi everyone! I'm new to the vintage washer and dryer scene. I have always loved vintage things and making them work and work well. I kept a pair of Kenmore 80 series washer and dryer alive for 10 plus years after they were already old. My wife and I inherited an older house and we have decided to make it feel vintage when you walk in. Anyway we stumbled across a matching pair of Maytags and I had no idea how desirable they were. I got them for 100 bucks and was told they work nicely. Well they do work, but the washer leaks. I've searched on here some and just wanted some straight forward opinions and just some discussion about what I ended up with. I plan to get the lights working on them and get them in tip top shape. I still need to track down a main knob for the washer and the always broken normal button. I think the dryer needs a door switch because it won't shut off when you open it, and the only way to shut it down is unplug it or wait for the cycle to end. Anyway, here is a picture of our new awesome set, and the leaks. By the way, my name is Tim, and I'll be redoing a vintage dish washer and making some repairs on a vintage water and ice setup on the fridge. But first the misses wants to stop going to the laundry mat and losing all of our quarters. Oh and a picture of our 72 bug.
