Do any of you have abandoned mine shafts in your area? I have 40 less than a mile and a half from me. In Az they say we have 150.000 or more. One in Wickenburg is over 2000 ft. deep. Very scary!!!!.....Bill in Az....

Where my parents live there are a few abandoned open pit stone mines but nothing deep, some 20 metres at best, no more.

I don't think it was quite ABANDONED, however

Well. actually. there WAS a mineshaft at

835 Washington Street NY, NY 10014

WOW

I want to fall deep down that shaft and then HE can buy
the beer and I'll turn into the Booze Hoover. I will....Bill in Az....

Nevada

They are everywhere here, Virginia City is on top of mines. I worked at a tungsten mine near Winnemucca that was owned by General Electric and opened in 1920. The main shaft (Glory Hole), is over 1700 ft. straight down...its being reopened with the price of metals going up, and being brought up to current safety standards...
