HI all, I used my ABC wringer today from 1955. I haven't used it in awhile and it made some strange sounds as if it needed transmission fluid or grease of whatever was used then? What would you all recommend for general use in these types of simple transmission? Thanks for responding back. Gary

having regreased my GE filter flo I might

....be on the wrong side of the globe but it worked pretty well: I cleaned the gears completely and let them dry, then I used a blend of SAE 40 motorist/car/bike oil and some ball bearing grease (mixing them 1:3 what comes to grease cream and liquid oil).
Redid the joint surfaces with bathroom silicone et voilà. No complaints so far.
Genuine GE or other topload US washer freaks will probably stone me to death but from what gunk I had found in the tranny this should do in comparison.
*shrugs*

Sorry for not being able to get you more substantial info.
Joe
