I think "flagged for removal" might have been because it was in the FREE section, but he still mentioned $100 in the headline.

The photo was definately not WCI era. It was the type with "speedometer" looking indicators for the heat settings. Probably early 60s?

Either way, I hate the idea of something like that going to scrap. So many treasures of our industrial era... At least locally it probably becomes a new Mustang, Cadillac or Jeep, rather than something from China. I take a load of metal to the yard every so often, but it's always pure junk... Like an 80s commercial HVAC unit I took off an office suite I own, or a mangled car door.

Yes PhilR, that's the one. I'd even be tempted to get it and hold it for a good home, but the guy said "no help moving" and I don't have anyone capable of assisting getting it in my truck.

a Frigidaire Custom Imperial - it was $65 at the time I posted it, if it's the same seller...would be a shame if he decided to scrap it. There are many donation sources willing to pick that up... St. Vincent De Paul (who you call and they'll schedule a pickup, as we did when in Royal Oak this past summer), Salvation Army, or....but not to the scrapper. Someone needs to think and act beyond, if it's not sold.
