Electra was the Electricity Board's own brand, and they rebadged from several different manufacturers. They had Hoover, Philips, Creda and Merloni washers and dryers, and Candy, Philips, Zanussi and Merloni for dishwashers. They also rebadged Lec fridges and freezers.
The first machines I remember from my parents were both Electra machines - one a rebadged Hoover 800 with no detergent drawer and a slide switch to unlock the door, and the second a rebadged grey and white Creda much like the 17001 in one of the sets of pictures at the beginning of the thread.
