advice and recomendation for a portable 24 inch dish washer or 18 inch dish washer

hello to all aw members,

when my grandmother move i was thinking about recommending that she gets a portable dishwasher but need advice if i should recomend her to go with the standard 24 inch dish washer like this ge model or go with the 18 inch portable model from fridgedair all advice and ideas are welcome and will post the 18 inch model oicture in the second post

You do not want an 18 inch wide machine unless you absolutely cannot fit in anything else in which case you apply the rule that ALMOST any dishwsher is better than no dishwasher. Go look in a dishwasher. A 24 inch machine is square so the wash arm reaches the dimentions of the tank and racks equally. An 18" wide machine is still 24 inches deep, so you have more than 3 inches at the front of the rack and at the back of the rack that do not have the end of the wash arm passing underneath them. If you are thinking uneven washing performance, you have won the prize for the correct answer as to why you don't want an 18" wide dishwasher.

GE's GLC4400 is the one I highly recommend.It is identical to the GSD4400 I owned and adored back when I lived in Florida.I never pre rinse and never rewashed anything. It was quiet too. The shown above in the first photo has a totally different tower type of wash system than this model which has three(3) different spray arms. A small one on its roof and two full,independent beneath each of the racks.Dishes,silverware,pots,pans,china and crystal all come out sparkling ready to use again.I also recommend Finish tablets and Finish (Jet Dry) rinse aid.Good luck!!

thats what my grandmother has at the moment i would love to have the info on the kenmore as well and have the info on the maytag model as well Please thank you and if she ask me what is the advantages of a portable rather than a built in model? thank you
