at my grandmothers wake one of my cousins whom im close to baught in his bose radio and after the bell rang to end the service he blasted "ding dong the witch is dead"...cruel but fitting, he has my eternal respect.
Advice needed: Funeral, adversarial Family members present

Thanks for the re-affirmation that Funeral Directors are NOT there to keep feuding family members off of one another. I've broken up my share of fights in both arrangement conferences and funeral services!
Keep it dignified, people, dignified till you leave my funeral home...then you can have at one another!

When all else fails, I suppose you could give the most obnoxious relative a swift kick in the pants and a firm push into the freshly dug gravesite.
Just kidding, of course.
I though my family was messed up until I read about some of the scenes described here. But then while I've attended the funerals of several friends (being into motorcycling will tend to do that), I've yet to be faced with a family funeral. So who knows what will happen. My two sisters are not exactly on speaking terms, my brother and one of my sisters are not exactly on speaking terms. I seem to be able to talk to any of them but in general I try to keep to myself in an effort to preserve what little sanity I have left. When Mom goes it will be interesting to see who says - or doesn't say - what.
