While at my MIL's house this weekend, I just discovered that the ice maker is leaking badly! The unit is aa side by side with ice & water through the door. The water part no longer works--there is no aubible click of the solenoid when a glass is placed against the paddle. She wants to go ahead and replace the fridge. Any advice on what brand of side by side to purchase?
Of course the old appliance lover in me is wondering if anew solenoid will fix everything. I sort of suspect the valve may not be shutting off the flow of water to the ice maker. Coupled with the water dispenser not working really makes me suspicious. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
