This weekend we did our annual "stove exchange" at the cottage and took out the '53 Kelvinator and installed a '57 Frigidaire (video forthcoming). Happy to say the Frigidaire is in good working order with one small exception.
The switch that takes the oven from "manual" operation to automatic off/on operation is fussy and won't stay in the "manual" position on it's own - it keeps slipping out of position and then the oven turns off. I've done a temp fix by squeezing a little piece of cardboard between the back of the switch and the glass panel and this is working to hold the switch in proper position, but it's not a good permanent solution. See photos.
AW Range Experts - is there an easy way to bypass this switch so that the oven is always on manual mode (I never use these timers so I don't care if it won't function)?
The speed heat and heat-minder features seem to be working and it cleaned up beautifully. Any advice on a good solution is greatly appreciated!!
