Hi all. Firstly, I'm a newbie here.
I have all sorts of old and curious appliances lying around, but the one that's giving me trouble is the old AEG Lavamat 2000 from the mid 70's (I believe) Which I rescued from the tip just over a year ago.
I pulled it out of storage a week or two ago and it fired up an absolute dream.
However since then some leaks have become apparent - two perished flexible rubber hoses, one from the draw to the drum outer casing.. a concertina type affair, and one on the sump (see links for pictures)

Anybody know of the whereabouts of some new ones or something similar, or where I could get something made up?

Also... if anyone in the UK wants to sell an automatic, just let me know :)

I'm struggling with that too, but at least you have a diagram!
It appears that the diagram does not depict that pipe at all - it should connect between the sump pump inlet and the black hose shown to the left and up a little, along with the white plastic connector shown to the left and down. Which is sort of bizarre really. -_-

AEG's part diagrams from that period aren't the clearest, unfortunately. I will have a look through other models of a similar vintage to try and locate that hose. Even if I can identify the part needed, the chances of it being available are low, but not impossible. The soap dispenser to drum hose might be a little easier to find. Worth a try for such a solid old machine.

Just a thought, and this could be a stupid question... is it a washer or a washer-dryer? I think there was a 2000 of each.

Thanks Dascot for your question, not at all stupid, as it seems there are variations.

Justanotherhigh, I have just found a long list of variations of the Lavamat 2000 machine. Could you by any chance find the rating plate on the machine and provide the "E.nr.." from that plate? Some of the diagrams have the right looking type of hose, but I want to be sure it's the right one.

Thanks
Tom

Great! :)

It's not at all uncommon for manufacturers to change parts during a product lifecycle when suppliers change, or to increase reliability, or decrease costs etc. Any number of reasons.

Sorry for the delay in replies, have been away from keyboard (Managed to get a 30ish year old indesit for a fiver to sort my daily woes!)

What I could find from a rather indestinct label (it's been wet... very wet recently)

S/N 645067542

605 102 902

F. No. 67912017

And yes, it is a washer drier, though if I try to put it through a drying cycle it trips the ring main's RCD on earth leakage... I presume that's down to all the leaks.

Hope this helps:)

That information is a great help. Thank you! I have identified your machine and the correct parts diagram.

I have found both hoses. The soap dispenser to tub hose is easily available. Have a look at the link below for a supplier.

You're very welcome.

That model was introduced in 1976. I may be able to work out the date of manufacture from the serial number.

Do let us know when you have completed the repairs! It's so satisfying to be able to repair such old machines.
