I have loved this machine, but now it is time to set it free. It needs a service as yesterday it stopped filling with water. The engineer who has seen it before was very optimistic about fixing it, but I'm afraid I'm giving in to new and shiny.

It's listed on eBay, but as the new washer comes on Tuesday I would be interested in offers from people who could collect it soon.

eBay 300615641525 The link below is for the scheduled item which might change when it goes live in a few minutes.

Thanks

Jane

Cool. I like the dryer with the plain front. Maybe whoever bought it wants the pair?

Mmmm...

We *think* it was 1986 or 1987, although can't guarantee it. All reasonable offers considered - the more so if it can be collected by Tuesday.

That dryer is from a later series than the washing machine. Technically they are not a matching set. The matching dryers would be from the Lavatherm 600 (vented dryers) and 700 (condenser dryers) series.

The dryer shown in the picture looks to me like a Lavatherm 320 (maybe 330), a vented dryer made in the 90's and matching to the Lavamat 600 series.

It's very well possible that the washing machine on offer here is a mid 80's machine.

eaasy!!

i persnally think this is nothing major, it could just need a new inlet valve, which isnt a big job at all. you could probably even get an engineer out at it for cheap enough.
Its a good washer and you wont get a good one like that now, unless you go miele.
So, are you a washer fan or did you just make an account just to sell it? im sure someone on here will want that, its a classic!
Although thats not a hotpoint dryer next to it is it?!:(
George :)

Washer newbie

Hi Boschlover1997. I joined up several months ago when I was finding out more about the washer. The engineer had already told me "they don't make them like that anymore" so a bit of googling and I found this site. I got some useful advice then when I was struggling with fabric conditioner, etc. I have enjoyed having such a sturdy machine (and can't afford a Miele replacement :( ) Feel a bit daunted about carrying on with it.

Ahem, yes that is a Hotpoint dryer, a present from my parents when our daughter was tiny and we were skint.

they are good dryers, but do not be fooled that all indesit made products(hotpoint) are good, the washers and dishwashers are terrible! the dryers are proving ok.
I am seriously considering this AEG washer to fix up, i will ask my parents about it and will probably end up getting a courier to collect it if i get it, how much you asking? i live in york
George

btw, if you dont know much about washing machines,
if you cant afford much i would get a bottom of the line LG or a bottom of the line Bosch replacement. if youve picked up i would say a more sophisticated Bosch or another AEG

Indesit Dishwashers are not terrible. My parents had a Indesit DW4000 for well over 12years & it only ever needed 1 replacement heating element, plus my current Indesit DI450 fully integrated slimline dishwasher is simply the best dishwasher I've ever owned.

yes but you see, 12 years ago indesit werent owned by merloni. and i think youll find 2 of my indesit made dishwashers have set on fire. and how long have you had your integrated one? it wont be long i bet.

If you knew anything about Dishwashers you would know that Merloni did own Indesit 12 years ago & have always owned Indesit now known as Indesit Company. Oh & I have had my Dishwasher nearly 4 years without 1 single problem. Unlucky you for having 2 faulty Indesits.

Thanks for the advice folks. All reasonable offers considered George, particularly if collection is nice and simple.
