Warranty....

I can see the Zanussi in the link has 2 year warranty, but the Zanussi's on Currys website don't appear to, so be mindful that the 2 year warranty is on offer from the retailer you choose to buy from.

John Lewis generally offer longer warranties than the likes of Currys & Comet - Zanussi's 1 year is usually two years for example.

As AquaCycle rightly mentioned, the John Lewis brand is well worth a look, because if nothing else they usually have 3 years warranty, which is very good at the price they sell for.

Failing that i'd consider another AEG - warranties seem to rise from 1-5 years in mst retailers for these though in some instances it could be that you pay more purely for the warranty & the machine is largely of similar quality to a cheaper Zanussi.

Bosch - i'd only touch the ones that say 'Made in Germany' on them as some of their cheaper stuff is made by other companies & isn't worth the money, even if it looks cheap for a Bosch product.

A final suggestion would be Gorenje. These cover the price brackets of Zanussi & AEG but are arguably better made & come with a minimum of 2 years warranty. Gorenje don't sell to big retailers though, so you'd need to find an independant retailer, like a Euronics centre. The customer service is generally better from smaller places so i wouldn't let that deter me!

If it were my cash i'd go with a Zanussi/John Lewis machine from John Lewis (so i get better warranty) or get a Gorenje, unless you feel flush in which case a mid spec AEG. Other than Miele there's not alot else i personally think is worth the money.

Liam :)
