Last year, I saw some attractive flannel sheets at Costco. I had visions of shrinkage and other faults with them and consulted with Launderess who told me I did not have all that much to fear from them so I bought them and they have sat in the closet for close to a year. This week I washed them in the SQ fl and they were the last load I dried outside in the gas KitchenAid because of the lint they were going to shed. They dried nicely without a lot of wrinkles and OMG, the generous proportions! The bottom sheet fits a big mattress beautifully with 13" deep pockets, but the top sheet was the real surprise. The length is unbelievable. Allowing close to a foot at the top to turn down over the blanket, I still had close to two feet of sheet to tuck under the mattress at the bottom. I understand that most flannel comes from Portugal and that was what was on the package: Flannel from Portugal King Set. On the back it says, "OKEO-TEX Standard 100. I don't know if this year's sheets come from the same place, but I like these. They were not too warm last night. They did not prevent me from turning over in my sleep like I have heard about some former users of flannel sheets. I think the set at Costco cost what a single sheet costs from Bean and I was not supporting a contributor to causes that do not have my best interests or survival at heart which they are free to do, but not with my money, just as I am free to shop elsewhere.
