I had solar city which soon became Tesla install 42 panels on my home 10 years ago, they are the most difficult company to work with I have ever encountered there have been numerous problems over the years the first one involve squirrels getting underneath the panels and chewing up the roof below.
I won’t bore you with all the details but on the lower side of the house, I noticed a slight roof leak last fall so I threw a tarp over it and I contacted Tesla, which is not an easy process and told them to come remove the panels on that part of the house so I could have the roof replaced. I wasn’t even gonna fight with them even though they caused the damage. The contract says that they will remove and reinstall the panels free once of course they immediately charged me $350 and are going to charge me about 800 to reinstall them
But it takes days and days and much trouble to get this set up. I thought it was my lack of computer skills so I had two younger much more experienced people try to get in touch with them and they both gave up. I finally got through on some App they have and discussed the problem. They said that I had never paid them the $400 to remove the panels when in fact, I had paid it almost a month earlier, but apparently went into the wrong account. It was curious how they were bugging me for the money, but once they got the money even in the wrong account, the reminders disappeared. They knew they had my money now I’m fighting with them to get them reinstalled.
The good thing is that they live up to their performance standards my electric bill this time of year would only be about $40 or so with the panels. The last two months have been $200 a month. I can’t believe I use that much electricity I use so I’m anxious to get them reinstalled if I had it to do over again I’d get a good independent company. I would never deal with these people again under any circumstances I’m trying to figure out how to get out of the contract but I don’t wanna give them thousands of dollars at this point Elon has enough money anyway lol
