Agitators

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Surprise! I actually like the agitator in the '66 Blackstone BA600 automatic best (yes, I know, NOT a GE... LOL). It splashes like crazy on low water levels and I find it moves clothes around well, even with a big load.

Hey RevvinKevin, what machine is Agitator no. 13 from ? Don't think I have seen that type before. I had a Hotpoint top load with the Spiralator Agitator and it had a filter Flo device which you put on top of the agitator. That thing really got rid of the fluff from your laundry !! Ah...the good old days !!!

John, I'm not 100% sure on #13, but I want to say it's from an older Apex wringer washer. I'm sure someone else will chime in with the correct answer.

On GE / Hotpoint filter flo machines, while they do use lots and lots and LOTS of water, yes they do an EXCELLENT job of removing fluff, lint and especially dog and cat hair, etc!

Here are a couple more photos. Not that it's a favorite agitator, but I love the machine it's in, a mid 50's Blackstone washer.

#13 is the Blackstone Hydractor wringer washer agitator...

agitators

Hi Chestermikeuk. Yeah I just recently purchased a Wilkins Servis Superheat MK16 from ebay. The agitator does that 210 arc. Really impressed with it. I think the Spiralators from Hotpoint top loaders / twin tubs done a 90 degree arc ?

Glad to see the upvotes for the Blackstones.....

.... but I want to add some color to this thread. Thus, the Blackstone Petticoat, which fits on the 250/350 agitator, creating a "gentle" cycle.

Speaking of the 350s, I just counted, and I have 15 of the stainless steel tubs in my cellar. Stacking them sideways, under the staircase, creates a nice set of storage compartments.

Sorry, Paul, never cared for the later plastic Blackstone agitators. They break, especially if the customer never ever removes them for cleaning.
