Does anyone have a knack for getting this hose on the tub for a vintage Kenmore washer? I assume the groove on the hose has to fit on the hole in the tub. This is the hose that goes to the water level switch. Thanks!

Air dome hose attachment to outer tub

I assume you're installing a new hose on your machine I always put a little bit of silicone sealant or something in that groove this also acts asa lubricant and then you can pull it completely in place from the outside, and let it dry overnight.

If you're trying to install an old hose, that's brittle the hose may tear or disintegrate when you try to pull it into place, if using an old hose, try putting it in a mug of boiling water for a minute before you try it. And dry it quickly and apply sealant.

The one on my Whirlpool broke when I began to dismantle it in late 2020, ended up having to fabricate a new one out of plumbing parts from Home Depot. Surprisingly, it worked without any issues, certainly more beefed up. If there were to be problems, can easily fix it. Hope to get that one up and running by summer, unfortunately will have to transplant a different console on since I’ve had no luck to repairing the timer or finding a replacement.
