Hi All I was in the mood of buying some, after searching alot I've seen it  in this online shop (link attached) and put all the info into the "my American shopper order form" and the quote I got was over 100$ for eight  22 oz Boxes with a shipping quote of over 89$  , so I just purchased two 50 oz boxes of All regular and a 80 Oz box of Sun powder from Wallmart spending 13.92 $ for detergents and 33 $ for shipping  with the same service "my American shopper", wondering why of such difference about the quote as the weight is almost the same....
I wanted to purchase the Ajax powder  in this online store, I wanted to try it since I never did, looks difficult to find it  online and generally stores countrywide, despite the liquid type that looks more usual....but I remember it was usual to be found in NYC in small shops, seen several along with lots of  Trend  and Purex powder  boxes in the window shelves of small shops in the Queens, the description states it is made by Colgate Palmolive New York City. That is maybe why in the rest of USA is not common?
Someone tried it? I'd like so much to try it.
Thanks

CP Sold Off Ajax

Awhile ago to Phoneix Brands. Haven't seen "stronger than dirt" Ajax laundry powder in years.

There is a "low foaming" version of Ajax detergent sold in huge boxes for commercial use, but have no idea if it is left over stock from Colgate-Palmolive or is new stuff from Phoenix Brands.

Thank you for info!

That is why it is so difficult to be find, I should have entered in a shop and buy some but  Queens was our last trip in NYC before leaving back to Maine, we were in hurry as we had to go to a greek shop there that it was about closing.
Oh so they sold it, so do you think the boxes shown in the link were still made by CP or  PB? I believe PB......

Ajax motto is still "stronger than dirt" anyway, I can read it in their liquids also,  BTW I should have noticed of this since their liquid bottles are the same shape of Fab and Dynamo ones, now owned by PB.....

I've seen that multipurpose low foaming  powder you mentioned  sold at walmart when I clicked "ajax detergent" , anyway I was interested in their regular  laundry powder version assuming is a "normal foaming" and with another composition of course.

The descripion  of the link I attached states registered trademark 2013 CP, so it is an error....

Watching better I could read the ingredients also, and I am susprised it does not contains enzymes.....

It looks really like a cheap-incomplete  composition IMO and I believe I spent way better my money buying else and  for  a  much cheaper shipping also,  now that I read this  my guess is that I would not  have been happy with it, curiosity is still strong, but doubt it being  stronger than dirt though! LOL

Freddy I will keep an eye out for it I thint that I have seen it somewhere here in Memphis I think that it is made by PB not CP. Will keep you posted. Carl

Hi Federico,

the Ajax from your link is made by Phoenix Brands. I have a box like this in my collection but I have never tried it. It was sent to me from a friend who lives in NYC.
I have tried the liquid version of the Phoenix Brands Dynamo and I can tell it's nothing more than plain water. (at least the bottle i have, maybe it was something wrong on that production because it is almost unbelivable how horrible it is)

Here is the picture of the Ajax box were you can see it is made by Phoenix Brands. (you have to scroll down)

Carl: Thank you alot for looking for it, if you cannot no problem, just a little curiosity.

Ingemar: thank you, your pic revealed alot helpful identifying many things more, a part of course the company of production the fact that is a low susdisng type since it is says can be used for front loaders also.....unless there're 2 variations of it but I don't think,  so I believe also it  totally changed  in formula after   PB brand purchase second the PB way, I mean low foaming suitable for every machines  since looks like  that all the  PB   powders are for both machines types  as it the  Fab powder and of course Fresh start.
Your collection revealed much helpful, a part being a nice  enormous one, BTW maybe I can enrich your collection with  some brands you maybe  miss, do you have a list to remember what you already have?   I do have available the FP  powder and liquid (Sold in Northern Italy only) a bottle of Unes (store brand) actually produced from  Quimi Romar (spanish company), Brixan powder, Gran bucato di Toscana  liquid (1 l bottle), USE liquid, alga soap (jelly soap to cut and put in the basket of the washer), Miss Kliny liquid tabs...it's all I have now in mind and could not see (or miss) in your pics, if you're interested email me.

Launderess: Thank you,  I could see the Ajax small (not instituitional)  powders boxes as well while in that website when I was searching for it as long as the institutional multipurpose one on many other websites, office and catering supplies,  walmart included,   what is of more  in the last link  of Key food same place I wanted to order from? What you mean?
I only  now noticed a thing anyway,  when I searched for it in wall-mart  and got the institutional Ajax the title stated clearly PB but for some reasons I didn't read, silly me , unfortunately the other website you attached for the small boxes called Top Ten  is a wholesaler and also showed me up during Ajax research,  I encountered that website many times  when doing my researches for the particular brands as many other wholesalers that carries very interesting brands both Made in USA and not.
I learned that usually these wholesalers carrying these particular "rare" detergents are the ones that refurnish dollar store kind shops, they carry alot of very interesting brands  that I really like I could  find or buy so easily,  in most of them is not at all strange finding latin  mexican detergents and in some even some asian ones (chinese Tide bags, Lave  powder etc... this last one  stink  like to be a  junk to me, but I'd give a try to one bag for curiosity)
As it is known  mexican and latin detergents are widely  common to be find in dollar stores kind of shops  lately  and not only ( I call it the boom of latin detergents, that is well deserved IMHO as  generally they are really good and cheap), I add a personal note on this, not all that comes from dollar stores is trash, actually some of mexican and dollar value detergents I tried  would eat  the breakfats of many other  "branded" detergents that you pay just for their name, I can say I particularly love the Ariel, Viva, Arcoiris, Foca, Blanca nieves, Roma, 123.....and I really wish I could find and  try: Maestro limpio lemon scent, Paloma, Ace and some others....
Unfortunately though  all I could not purchase online was available just from wholesalers,  that of course being wholesalers they cannot and do not offer retail sales, many of these  infact  offer just sales if over a minimum order amount that varies from 500$ to 1000$.....in most of them you notice of it just later as you cannot go over with checkout as they say " Please to go ahead  make an order of at least $" etc...others also requires a US  retailer code  that of course I do not have being in Italy and not being a retailer, also do not have 500$ to spend in detergents.....who does? LOL
Wish I could find some of the brands I miss soon....
The wholesalers that carry the most intersting brands I visited  are:

And this one I still have to understand if it is a wholesaler or not...

Lots of interesting brands, but the website itself  <span id="result_box" class="short_text" lang="en"><span class="hps">does not inspire me</span> <span class="hps">a lot of confidence, do not know why but my nose itch when I surf it...maybe it is just me...
</span></span>

And I was recently surfing this  dollar website store and liked it so much, is a texan store and they sell paloma powder, not sure it being a wholesaler or not..... If not a wholesaler with minimum order I will probably try  to  place an order in the next months for the paloma ..... tried to write them to ask their international shipping quote and if are wholesaler or not, this  just to realize eventually if their quote would be less (I doubt it) than the "my american shopper" service...
Still have to get a reply....

Watching again your link Launderess I noticed there was a thing more actually, the store addresses,  and could notice that a  location of this store is  in Astoria, very close  to the greek food store I've been into  that day named Titan Foods, which was a very partcular "greek style" building with blue window shutters and bannisters.....
But I've seen them in small shops and don't recall if there was Key food name on them or not, they were just small mini.market.
