Recently spotted at my local Stop & Shop supermarket. Among the very few powdered detergent offerings I noticed that All free ad clear powder is now HE compatible. Also per the pics on the back of the box, apparently the other All versions are HE compatible as well. So for those of you that need a "free/clear" powder for your HE machine, looks like there is an alternative to Persil. Now, good luck finding them.

Ahem, P&G, are you paying attention?

All reminds me of Sunlight

and Wisk for some reason. Are these related by chance?
When I contacted Sunlight about a powder HE I was told to please be seated if you are not already and then told that powders are becoming obsolete?? Funny thing is I remember members from Australia here talking about Surf powder which is also made by Sun products but as usual only the liquid version of Surf can be found around here....interesting. Looks like market demand might be making a change for us powder users in higher populated areas.

Powders take more equipment to make (ask our resident detergent maker Jetcone) so it would not be surprising to see them fade from all but the expensive brands. It is easier to cram more stink, I mean perfume, into liquids which is the way to win favor with every second and third world person doing laundry for whom laundered does not have to mean "cleanest" just heavily perfumed so that the dirt cannot be detected by smell. The same goes for bath soap and bubble bath.
