Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Creda . . .

What cool machines! Creda actually did sell some appliances here in the US in the '80s. I have an old brochure somewhere, but I can't recall if they listed the laundry equipment or not. Years and years after I got the brochure I had a bf with a Creda cooktop. He was surprised that Creda even had a brochure for the US, since his cooktop came with the house and he had never heard of another.

70`s Psychadelic!!!

Hi Seamus

That kitchen was like "Optical Aerobics", Marley flooring, Crown paper and also the ubiquetous Russell Hobbs K2 kettle...LOl

The washer was bought in 1978, mums first automatic, previous machine was the Servis Supertwin MK2, which served 6 of us since 1963...I had just started work and bought mum the dryer to match for her birthday, (from Rumbelows)...I replaced the set for them in 1987 with a 6033 pair in dark grey (still working & current) when working for Currys as I had a fab staff deal.

I replaced the bearings in the 308 above and passed it to my gran (that was her first auto washer) and it passed to her sister, my great Aunt, in 1991 after Gran died....this machine, and my Great Aunt Bess at 92, are still going strong and working well...

Replaced by the 6033 Quartz...

Rob, dont you think those early Creda square door machines are just like the later Hoover models???

Nathan, New World where made by Creda, also badged as Jackson as well, that large Creda was one of the most efficient dryers in its time until the Servis models came along....

Paul, The Servis MK72 is the second front loader made by Servis UK, the first was the Compact 300 in 1970, this had a Silver and dark Chocolate/Purple control bezel, and had vertical switches, I have the MK75 dryer to match the 72, both of these were compact machines H30inch x W 22.4 x D 22.4, the later 308 slimline machines were made to cabinet height by adding the dark brown plinth..

The beauty about the 308 / 9 machines was that the drum suspension mounts where bolted to the plinth, and you can take away the cabinet and the drum still works, rather like the ASKO....

Darren, Jon - you NEED to keep that Servis...LOl

Greg / Louis, Those adds always make me laugh...
1950`s = Court Shoes
1960`s = White stillies
1970`s = Killer Heels....lol

Happy washing, Mike

Servis

How do Mike,
Would this have been Servis' very first tumble dryer then, which matched the 300 compact?

So we have the:

300 compact
MK72 compact
Mk308 Slimline......you can see where this is going!!!!

Dates...

Hi Darren, at least we have All the colours covered...LOl, but they are the same machines inside , and the compacts took the same 9lb load etc..funny to think that the first Bendix 9lb load non bolt down, with damper suspension was 27 inches wide as opposed to the Servis at 22.4inches...

Paul, I`m having a senior moment, either that or am typing so fast I`m betwixing things...

The order is:
Servis MK 72 produced 1972
Servis MK300 produced 1976
Servis MK308 produced 1978

My, where Is that dryer??? that is the dryer to match the MK300, but Servis did two earlier dryers, the first one being in 1963 called the Supa Dry, This was a Solid Full door dryer, similar to the old Burco models, all the controls where behind the full door so its looks plain from the front, the second was a model in black and white, same style as the compact, but was produced between 1966 & 1968...

AND yes I see where this is going...LOl

My Sangiorgio!

Here you are! If it weren't been thanks to her...I wouldn't ever have been a Whasher's lover!

I spent my childhood in front of it!

This one is with inox control panel and I thinks is a better model than mine (maybe 827), while mine is with brown control panel and is the 825 model...Sangiorgio TESI 825!

She's still in the basement in working order since 1982...I don't use it very often... but I care to save her bacause of many tender remebers she gives me everytime...:-))

Darren most of the collection moved on because we were moving and we just had too many machines to move with us.The collection got a bit out of hand and we could hardly move in the garage! The good news is that Chestermike got a lot of them from us so they are being looked after and preserved for years to come. The A3350 was going to be left in the house when we moved but the welding went underneath and so you could never get it balanced properly and it would vibrate too much so I took parts off it.It was a shame as the rest of the machine was in such great condition and the motor sounded like new.

Darren, Below is my current collection. All Hoovers but im hoping in the future to add a Servis/Hotpoint also as these are my 3 favourite brands. We also have a some twin tubs but we are really trying hard not to get such a big collection as we did before.

Wow, what a great response

I am so pleased I did this thread! It's also great that it's an international subject we can all join in on.

Mike / Paul I absolutely loved the Creda super de luxe. It was also quite dynamic in action.

Now let's see what else I have to share.
